Приглашение на обед, вариант 2

When Professor Brown received the invitation to the faculty luncheon, she read it quietly to herself: “Professors and Spouses are cordially invited to the faculty luncheon…” She called her spouse and asked them if they would have time to go to the luncheon. She didn’t want to go alone, because she didn’t think she would know anyone there, except the bartender, who was an old friend of hers, and even this bartender would surely be at the luncheon with their partner. She was also nervous, because she was sure that she would meet the president of the university, whom she had never met before. This would be an important time for gaining contacts within the university, and she needed her spouse’s moral support.
