Как Стив получил водительское удостоверение

- Steve, do you have to learn how to drive a manual transmission to get your driver’s license?

- Well, that depends. In Russia I think you have to, but in the US you don’t have to.

- What did you do to get your driver’s license?

- Basically I just learned how to drive on my parents’ car, and then I took the road test. I didn’t go to driving school or anything.

- Why didn’t you go to driving school?

- Again, I didn’t have to. I also didn’t want to. I didn’t have time in general. And driving in my town is pretty easy. It was a piece of cake to pass the driving test, even without going to driving school. Are you planning to go to driving school?

- Yeah, I think I have to. Plus my parents really want me to. I think it will help them get cheaper insurance.

- Well, maybe it will be fun.

- I doubt it will. I am pretty sure it will be tedious. But you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do. I just can’t wait till I can drive.

- You’re lucky. You have something to look forward to. I’ve been driving a long time, and I don’t find it fun anymore.

- Well, I do look forward. It will give me so much freedom. I can’t wait till I can drive!
