When Carl saw the lights of cop cars pull into the driveway, he realized that breaking into the abandoned house had been ill advised. He hadn’t really wanted to, but he had been egged on by his friends. They told him that the house had been empty for years, and persuaded him to break in to see if he could find anything valuable. Apparently the house wasn’t really abandoned, and when he broke in, someone called the cops. When the cop cars parked in the driveway, Carl immediately surrendered himself. He hoped that he wouldn’t be taken to a correctional facility for this ridiculous prank. Ultimately the police were easy on him. Instead of going to a correctional facility, he only had to do community service work for a couple of days.
