Город или село?

Moving from the city to the country, or from the country to the city, often requires one to make a lot of adjustments. If you are from the city, you probably prefer being around a lot of people. You’d rather go to the cinema, or to a club, or to a restaurant, than to sit at home and watch TV. Probably you prefer large crowds to empty streets. If you are from the country, you probably prefer peace and quiet to the hustle and bustle of the city. Likely you find being around lots of people tiring, and you would rather walk on quiet streets, where there isn’t a lot of noise, traffic or pollution. Of course living in a city has its advantages, as does living in a small town or in the country. Often a preference for the country or for the city depends on upbringing. Children who were born and raised in the city usually can’t adjust to country life, and vice versa. If only it were possible to spend part of the time in the city, and part of the time in the country. That would give everyone the best of both worlds, as they’d be able to rest when they preferred to rest, and go out and experience the liveliness of the city when that is what they preferred.
